Define the intellectual movement known as the enlightenment.?

In order for the people to understand enlightenment in the West it needs to be intellectualised and formatted. Which is ironic because you can't learn enlightenment with the mind, it is the polar opposite, ie No mind. This is why people such as Dawkins are so far removed from understanding it.
