Boss audio system no power?

i just hooked up my boss audio system to make sure it worked i hooked up all the wires except the illumination and the parking brake(it has a dvd output). the cd remove light is illuminated but the power wont turn on. might it be because those two wires are not connected or is it something else? i pressed the reset on and nothing happened. i also havnt bought a antenna adaptor might this cause the problem also? any help will be greatly appreciated.
