Has anybody ever made a refrigerator that was vented to the outside?

When our house was first built the fridge stuck out the back into a covered area. It didn't pull in cold air, but the compressor didn't have to work nearly as hard since the coils were in sub freezing air most of the winter instead of being in the warmer house temperature air. It worked until some mice decided to build a nest around the warm coils and chew on electric wires. The new fridge didn't fit in the same hole in the wall and we covered it over.
