Geek question - Does a hydra have collective consciousness?

It is my theory, however accurate, that the hydra has the mind stored primarily in the immortal head. The other heads may have the capacity to communicate with the primary head, receiving signals from it that guide its motions. Perhaps the heads closer to the immortal center receive it faster and are able to act faster whereas the further heads act with seeming delay, because the signal takes longer time to reach.
